A continuation of “A Gaze on Inherited Lives”, this work flows along the timeline of existence. Where the former work looked to the past, the dawn on the lower left of this painting signifies the present, while fish drifting away into the cosmos hint at futures yet to be born.
Time’s eternal flow and life as a bright, luminous force are constant thematic elements found throughout my works. The title, Broomstick Star, is inspired by the idea that all life on Earth began with amino acid crystals falling from ancient comets— the very stuff of stars swept along by cosmic messengers who came bearing the seeds of everything we are.
